Our boy has gone yumpy
Don't get me wrong, I am over the moon by the way we have replaced the old with the new, but why does everything have to continuously beep: as you set it, at half cycles and when it's finished going through its full cycle, or, leave the door open.
When we have them all going at once, it's enough to make a sane person go yumpy with all the beeping going on. So much so, I've even contemplated resorting to old technology to help me find the main culprit.

Now to digress and reflect on my own words. Making a mountain out of a molehill is energy sapping and gives rise to carrying on like a pork chop, as I have done above, with all things that irk us, even though the underlying problem may not be their fault or responsibility.
To be able to differentiate between life shattering events and trivial matters and act accordingly will certainly make life easier for us, and for those around us. Yes, “Life is too short to worry or complain about trivial things.” Something I try to remember and act on everyday.
2. If not, how did you learn to overcome worrying about trivial things?

It's the worrying about trivial things that stops me from going postal over the huge things...like our politicians inability to make real decisions on their wardrobes....
Hi Jayne! Are you talking about Julia Gillard's favourite polka dot top that she wore again at APEC or the all orange outfit worn by a senior US politician while visiting here recently? (you know, the one that doesn't like Vegemite sandwiches) or, have I really lost the plot and gone totally bonkers/yumpy?

Peter
Hi Peter,
I couldn't see the image: don't know why.
Anyway, I agree with you: sometimes I wish I could kick new technology and get back to my oldie one (it is much more reliable). But anyway, changes are inevitable, I guess...
Life is too short indeed, Peter: and we should be grateful just for being alive and enjoying good health :).
Take care, my friend!
Hi Max! The image is visible on the four browsers that I have but you know technology, it can be a right royal pain in the backside sometimes!
Take Care,
Peter
Hi Peter,
I have tried it again, and I was finally able to see the image: what is up with those ears? LOL LOL ;)
Don't get me started on technology lol...
How have you been, mate?
Hi Max! Thanks for that and have a top weekend BTW!
Take Care,
Peter
Peter, yes, I'm a worrier par excellence! Just ask my daughter if I'm hyper-vigilant! I'm sure she would not stop enumerating 'til morning.
But I know what you mean. We have so much stimulation at times or even most of the time, that we can't even tune in to our own thoughts.
Sometimes I even carry on like a pork chop, lol, but maybe even pork chops need to vent. :)
I enjoyed your post, Peter!
I'm chuckling here, Peter, as I read your post. I, too, am somewhat of an anti-technology fellow. It seems that everything goes wrong at the same time, too. Computer breaks down and the microwave blitzes. The TV won't program and the one digital clock won't quit beeping. You get the idea...
Don't worry, though, be happy! All small stuff at the end of the day.
Hope this finds you well, friend.
Sometimes it is hard not to worry about trivial things. It is molded into some of us to worry.
Hi Lynda! Sometimes I'm the "King of Pork Chops" when it comes to worrying. Either it's worrying about the children or which bill is going to be paid first or be put off to a later date, to name just a few. I used to be a lot worse but I'm happy to say, I'm getting better with age.
Take Care,
Peter
Peter:
Your post reminds of my younger years at home when we had one of those big black telephones sitting on the kitchen counter. It would ring with the loud clang of a firetruck charging through the streets toward some dire emergency. My uncle Bob hate that sound and threatened to toss the "black beast," as he called it,into the trash, and strike a match to it.
I love the picture in your post, the big ears. You could probably hear the incessant beeping of Sputnik with a pair of those humongous ears.
Happy trails.
Hi StorytellERdoc! Yes, life was a lot simpler back in the old days. Take for example the channel selector knob on the old black and white TVs - you never lost the remote control as there was none.
Take Care,
Peter
Hi Rose! You're spot on there. Presently worrying about trivial things should be swept under the carpet the way North Korea is going. What fools!
Take Care,
Peter
Hi Swubird! Great to see you back! Home phones! Haven't they gone through a change. From the dial, to push button to cordless. What's next? That's right! The big trend over here is to not have one at all - just the cell phone.
Now, if only I could get my hands on a old street public phone box - the ones that looked like a small Dr Who Tardis.
Well, nothing remains the same does it, forever changing, forever another bill.
Take Care,
Peter
We're having the same problem with our electric stove--it's kinda sensitive and the beeping is driving me nuts!!
beeping to remind us that something is wrong is helpful but way too irritating! ;)
Hi Mayet and welcome! There are so many little things that annoy us, aren't there! We both have more important things to worry about now don't we. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas.
Take Care,
Peter
